The Day of Good Deeds

On the 28^th of April, 2011, the public entity Nacionalinis kraujo centras and the association Donorystė invited everybody to the 3^rd Day of Good Deeds that took place in the modern shopping and leisure center Panorama. The visitors of this event were not only invited to donate blood, but also to learn about the activities of the Lithuanian organizations that take care of patients. Those who were not able to donate blood had other opportunities to contribute to this campaign.

 

The Childhood Cancer Fund Rugutė, taking care of children who often need donor blood, was also invited to present its activity in The Day of Good Deeds.

 

We are happy to have met other organizations that participated in The Day of Good Deeds. The Charity and Support Fund Pacientų saugos, invoacijų ir kokybės fondas presented its project Kalbėkime to promote communication between doctors and patients. One of the goals of this organization is to promote and establish a culture of patient safety in Lithuania, and to inform and empower the society on patient safety issues. The representatives of Medicinos diagnostikos ir gydymo centras performed cholesterol blood testing to all the interested visitors. The organ donation association Donorystė invited people to register for the donor card. The Charity and Support Fund Mažoji širdelė presented its activities. This fund unites parents that have children with congenital heart diseases (children that need surgeries and transfusions of donor blood). All those who donated blood in The Day of Good Deeds received flowers from the hands of the little patients. Visitors were also able to purchase souvenirs crafted by the little patients of The Children’s Hospital of Vilnius University.

Smuglevičiaus str. 45, Vilnius) on the 4^th of June, 2011.
