The Bridge of Friendship Poland-Lithuania

We are so glad because the friendship bridge with one more friendly neighbouring country – Poland – is being built. It was 9^th-11^th of April when the Polish Fund‘s Fundacja Spełnionych Marzeń (The Fulfilled Dreams Fund) founders Małgorzata and Tomasz Osuch and employee Agata Cwalina visited Lithuania. The objective of the Fund Fundacja Spełnionych Marzeń is to extend help to children with cancer in Poland. This Fund was created in 2002 after family of Małgorzata and Tomasz Osuch lost their son to oncological disease.

 

During the visit, on the 9^th of April guests together with guide Juzef Šostakovski visited the old town of Vilnius, discussed history of Poland and Lithuania, enjoyed the most beautiful places of our country‘s capital. On the 10^th of April the representatives of Fund Fundacja Spełnionych Marzeń spent some hours at Rugutė‘s Home, told us about their Fund‘s activities and projects, shared the ideas and opportunities to collaborate with Rugutė.

 

Founders of Fundacja Spełnionych Marzeń also invited children who were touched by oncological diseases from Lithuania to come to Poland on 16^th-18^th of June and take part in the Onco-Olympics sports games. The organizers of this event strongly believe this will be a great opportunity to children not only to have unforgetable moments, but also to find new friends in other countries.

 

We say the most sincere thank you to founders of the Fund Fundacja Spełnionych Marzeń for their visit to Lithuania, as well as for the wish to collaborate with Rugutė. Thank you for your beautiful and valuable activities trying to make each day of sick children full of smiles and Hope.

 

We specially thank the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania in Poland Egidijus Meilūnas for initiating the Bridge of Friendship between Poland and Lithuania and for his kind help in organizing the guests‘ visit to Lithuania.
