Jekaterina’s Trip to Moscow

JekaterinaWe are happy that the circle of Rugutė’s friends is expanding both in Lithuania and abroad. When Viktorija, the diplomat of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Russia, offered a visit to an event for children with oncological diseases and the performance of Ch. Khamatova Three Sisters in Moscow for one of Rugutė’s families, we suggested it to Jekaterina’s family.

Jekaterina shares her impressions about the trip:

JekaterinaOne day Edita called us with some good news – all our family would fly to Moscow to take part in the event, organized by a Russian fund that takes care of children with oncological diseases, and to see the performance Three Sisters, directed by Ch. Khamatova (the founder of the fund, who is also playing the main role). I was so happy to hear this news that I immediately told my parents about it. They were very glad, because my mother is a big fan of Ch. Khamatova, however, they were also concerned about it being the first long-distance trip since my little brother Danielius was born. Nevertheless, we decided to go.

JekaterinaAfter a month of preparations, paperwork and health testing, we got ready for the flight and departed on the 30th of May. We were warmly welcomed to stay at Viktorija’s (the Lithuanian diplomat in Russia) family house. We are very thankful to Viktorija for her assistance in paperwork, for an interesting sightseeing tour in Moscow and for the warm and sincere communication with our family.

JekaterinaWe visited a lot of famous sights in Moscow: The Red Square, the impressive Cathedral of Christ the Messiah, and lots of monuments for famous Russian people. After the sightseeing we went to see the performance, and after the performance we got to meet Ch. Khamatova and to spend some quality time with her. Ch. Khamatova gave us a very simple and lovely account of herself. Next day we visited the event, organized by Khamatova’s fund Give a Life, where children, including me, got to decorate the wall with their funny drawings. In the evening Viktorija’s husband took us to an impressive tour around nightly Moscow.

All our family is sincerely thankful for all who helped to organize this trip.

Childhood Cancer Fund Rugutė is also saying THANK YOU to Viktorija for the sincere organization of the trip, for warmly welcoming Jekaterina and her family to her home, and for caring about them during the whole trip.

We thank Jekaterina and her family for providing us with unforgettable impressions and for the true and sincere friendship that budded between us.
