Even the Smallest Good Deed is of Greater Value than the Highest Intention

With the diplomas and hearts shining brightly with goodness! At the end of this summer we’ve received a lovely letter from Sandra Burokaitė. Sandra wrote that in the small town of Švenčionėliai during the diploma evening for her English students, the participants were watching the documentary by A.Matelis Before Flying Back to the Earth and heartily giving the money that would help the Little Fighters.

Sandra was reporting about this event: “Švenčionėliai. A small town in the district of Vilnius and in the region of Švenčionys. There is a river Žeimena, the post-office, orphanage, three schools, the school of arts, a few supermarkets and over 6000 inhabitants.

Organizer of the event with the best student of the year - Karina!Five years ago I started teaching English and the number of students was growing steadily each year. I am very excited to see that in such a small town there is a group of enthusiastic people who are ready to overcome the highest mountains and wade through the deepest rivers to reach their goals and give a hand to others. Having such a brilliant group of students, I’ve been organizing diploma evenings in the local Culture Centre at the end of each school year.

However, this year I’ve wanted so badly to do it differently – not only for our pleasure, but for the benefit of others as well. In February while surfing the net, I came across with the website of Rugutė. I could hardly take my eyes off articles and photographs… All I saw touched my heart. “Yes, we can definitely help these Little Fighters!” – this idea has been floating in my mind all the time.

Mother Nijolė - the motivator of this event and also an English student, who loves children from the bottom of her heartOn July 30th, on a warm Friday evening, English lovers arrived for their diplomas. We were rejoicing over the attained results, ‘the students of the year’ were nominated and everyone received their diploma. During the event I presented Rugutė and its brilliant work. While watching the extracts of the documentary by A.Matelis Before Flying Back to the Earth, the eyes were shining brightly with the willingness to help… All in all, that was the day of goodness!

Each person could donate for this noble work with the Little Fighters. We are very excited that 250Lt from a small town of Švenčionėliai is going to be a little drop in the big Sea of Hope...“.

We say a heartfelt Thank you to Sandra Burokaitė for sharing the warmness and making this handsome and noble idea come true.
We also thank all who shared their goodness with the Little Fighters and for filling the Ocean of their lives with the droplets of Hope.
